Franck's X Level Crossing Beer Dinner

On Monday, August 14th beginning at 6:00 p.m. Franck’s restaurant will team up with Level Crossing Brewing Co. for a special beer pairing dinner on their beautiful patio, weather permitting.

The cost for the dinner is $175 per person for food & beer or $105 for food only. Call 801-274-6264 for reservations. The menu for Franck’s X Level Crossing Beer Dinner is as follows:

First Course: Long Fin Tuna Tiradito//lacto fermented cucumber/ sea salt cracker/ funky chili/brick house sour bagoni – Beer Pairing: Crypto Philly Sour

Second Course: Coriander Scented Honeydew Melon// charred avocado/ whipped Drake’s Farm goat cheese/pistachio/ spring onion dressing/raw sweet onion/ mint – Beer Pairing: Jazz Loon Pilsner

Third Course: Torched Miso Steelhead Trout// amber ale pickled mussels/ stewed pine nut/malted pine beurre-blanc/candied steelhead skin – Beer Pairing: Look Up Amber Ale

Fourth Course: House Cured Pork Loin Lomo// Utah corn gordita/chimichurri/dark chocolate mole/green banana pico/queso fresco/fried peanut – Beer Pairing: Eternal Pursuit

Fifth Course: Overnight Roasted Wagyu X Sirloin Cap//grilled onion soubise/toasted barley risotto/ grilled onion jam/ Utah cherries/”black cherry” reduction – Beer Pairing: Timpanator (barrel aged doppelbock)

Sixth Course: Local Coffee, Thyme and Maple Cream Pie// chocolate covered coffee bean – Beer Pairing: Red Sea Rift Barrel aged stout

Ted Scheffler

Originally trained as an anthropologist, Ted Scheffler is a seasoned food, wine, and travel writer based in Utah. He loves cooking, skiing, music, and reading, and spends an inordinate amount of time tending to his ever-growing herd of guitars and amplifiers. Ted is also the author of the Utah Bites newsletter, which is published in partnership with Utah Stories. Before moving to Utah, Ted lived in New York City, and numerous states in the US, as well as in various countries overseas, Spain, Japan, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. He earned a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from the Graduate Faculty of The New School for Social Research.

The wonderful atmosphere, decor, cuisine and outstanding service combined to make Mi Buena Vida one of our favorite new restaurants and we can’t wait to return.
